GratitudeLock ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the GratitudeLock mobile application ("the App").
1. Information We Collect
GratitudeLock is designed with privacy at its core. All data you enter in the App is stored locally on your device only. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers.
Specifically, the following data is stored only on your device:
- Your name (entered during onboarding)
- Your daily gratitude journal entries
- Your app settings (reminder time, notification preferences)
- Your streak and usage history
None of this information leaves your device. We have no access to it.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking purposes
- Usage analytics beyond what Apple and Google provide to developers by default (see section 5)
- Payment information (handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play)
3. How We Use Information
Since we do not collect personal data, we do not use, sell, share, or disclose personal information to any third parties.
Any data you enter into the App is used solely to provide the App's core functionality — displaying your entries, tracking your streak, and personalising your experience — all within the App on your device.
4. In-App Purchases
GratitudeLock may offer premium features through in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment card details. Please refer to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies for information on how they handle payment data.
5. Platform Analytics
Apple and Google may collect anonymous, aggregated analytics about app usage (such as crash reports and download counts) as part of their standard developer services. This data is anonymised and we cannot identify individual users from it. Please refer to Apple's App Store Privacy Policy and Google Play's Privacy Policy for details.
6. Push Notifications
If you enable daily reminders, GratitudeLock uses your device's local notification system. No data is sent to any server to deliver these reminders — they are scheduled entirely on your device.
7. Children's Privacy
GratitudeLock is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
